Chalmazel ski resort is an hour from Saint Étienne, an hour and a quarter from Clermont-Ferrand and an hour and a half from Lyons, in a perfect location for skiing near major cities. It reaches an altitude of over 1,600 metres at its highest point and offers a whole range of nature-based activities both in winter and in summer. Take the train to Montbrison, which is the nearest railway station to Chalmazel ski resort.
From Montbrison railway station, you can take lines L11 (Saint-Etienne / Montbrison) and L31 (Montbrison / Chalmazel) on Région Loire coaches to Chalmazel-Jeansagnière. During the season, you can get off this line right at the foot of the slopes.
During the skiing season there is a free shuttle running between the town of Chalmazel and the foot of the slopes :
