How do you get to Chalmazel ski resort?

Chalmazel ski resort is an hour from Saint Étienne, an hour and a quarter from Clermont-Ferrand and an hour and a half from Lyons, in a perfect location for skiing near major cities. It reaches an altitude of over 1,600 metres at its highest point and offers a whole range of nature-based activities both in winter and in summer. Come along with family or friends and breathe in the fresh air here in the Monts du Forez !

By car

To get to the resort via the A72 and A89 motorways, take the following exits:

  • 7 - Montbrison, towards Châtelneuf
  • 6 - Feurs, towards Boën
  • 4 - Noirétable, towards Boën

By public transport

Train + Bus

Take the train to Montbrison, which is the nearest railway station to Chalmazel ski resort.

From Montbrison railway station, you can take lines L11 (Saint-Etienne / Montbrison) and L31 (Montbrison / Chalmazel) on Région Loire coaches to Chalmazel-Jeansagnière. During the season, you can get off this line right at the foot of the slopes.

 

Shuttle 

During the skiing season there is a free shuttle running between the town of Chalmazel and the foot of the slopes :

It is fairly difficult to get to Chalmazel ski resort by public transport.
